Southwest Bend

SW Bend begins from Downtown’s Historic District where it traverses the Deschutes River and reaches south beyond the Old Mill District to several rural neighborhoods just beyond the City limits. The SW section boasts some of Bend’s most beloved features of quintessential Bend living including the Deschutes River Trail, Farewell Bend and Riverbend parks, all popular places to put in the river for paddle boarding, kayaking or a river float. Century Drive begins in SW Bend, which leads to Mt Bachelor ski resort and the Cascade Lakes Highway

Tourists and residents alike enjoy the Shops at the Old Mill District with its galleries, shops, restaurants and movie theaters. The Les Schwab Amphitheater is situated along the river with gorgeous Cascade mountain views as the backdrop for concerts and events

Two elementary schools were constructed when developers pushed South in search of buildable land creating a variety of new neighborhoods, many with easy river trail access. A four year university degree in Central Oregon is now a reality with the addition of the Oregon State University Cascades campus located on Century Drive.
